Menetou-Salon Celestin 2018 - Domaines Minchin
At Domaine La Tour de Saint-Martin, the Menetou-Salon Celestin is obviously made from 100% hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes. Fermentation is in conical cuvees and the rind of the skins at the top of the cuvee is broken daily to aerate and release gases. The wine is then aged in oak barrels. A cherry red wine with a nose of blackcurrants, a floral note, spiciness and some earthiness. A complex wine with finesse! The flavors of dark fruit, some pepper, flint, toast, some fennel and, yes, a mini bite of Brussels Fair! Therefore a beautifully balanced Menetou-Salon Celestin with fine tannins. Serve at 16-18 degrees with beautiful red meat dishes, white meat and venison steak. Can also be served with spicy cheese and even chilled with a firm white fish.
