Domaine Jean-Claude Lapalu -St.Etienne la Varenne
Domaine Jean-Claude Lapalu is ten hectares in size. Jean-Claude has been making his own wine since 1995 after an acquaintance asked him if he would do it instead of selling the harvest to the cooperative. From that moment on he started working more and more organically. So that was working with lower yields, slow vinification and use other yeasts. Jean-Claude now works completely biodynamically with the motto: "A wine feeds on its environment". His Beaujolais can be considered very authentic, with pure and noble fruit, and a great concentration of taste reminiscent of beautiful Bourgognes.

Jean-Claude is a warm-hearted man; a wine grower who loves his beautiful region and speaks passionately about 'his' Beaujolais. This Beaujolais is, as said, full of fruit and has an unusually powerful, almost tough, structure. The bottles fly out of the cellar door of the domain in no time. This is also due to Messrs Robinson and Parker giving him unusually high scores for his Beaujolais. Despite all this success, Jean-Claude remains calm, down-to-earth and on the lookout for new flavours! A true vigneron!
