Fleurie 2021 - Domaine Clos de la Roilette

Description
This local queen, Fleurie Clos de la Roilette, is made from the Gamay grape are harvested from vines that are more than 40 years old. The grapes that grow on them therefore get more of everything. Funnily enough, these grapes also absorb less moisture, so they become more concentrated in terms of aromas. This is when it starts to get interesting to produce wine from older 'healthier' vines! In our experience, these wise grapes produce more concentrated wines, and therefore also more beautiful wines. Freshly harvested, the grapes ferment for about 10 days in concrete cuvées. After that, the wine undergoes an aging of 6 months in oak barrels. This results in a Fleurie with a beautiful red colour and a delicate smell of violets and raspberries. Beautifully balanced and full and fruity in the mouth. Nice and nutty, spicy and grilled with a touch of leather. At 15 degrees it goes well with a healthy plate of grilled vegetables, delicious stews or just ripe cheese like Camembert or Livarot.
