Les Vignobles Raguenot has existed since 1967 and was made into a thriving wine company by Lise and Philippe Raguenot. In 1997, their two daughters Emmanuelle and Marie-Pierre with husbands Daren Miller and Eric Lallez took over the vineyard of Château des Tourtes, located in the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The challenge that good wines must bring demanded training in viticulture and oenology. Less than a year later in 1998, the two couples acquired the vineyard Château Haut Beyzac in the Haut-Médoc appellation.
With passion and motivation, they worked to achieve impeccable quality. National and also international attention followed and they gained the recognition of their craftsmanship and the appreciation of the wine drinkers.
The wine company Les Vignobles Raguenot actually consists of two domains.
The first is located in Saint-Caprais-de-Blaye. Château des Tourtes has a vineyard of 70 hectares. Of these, 15 hectares are planted with white grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle. The rest of the vineyard is planted with blue grapes, namely Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carménè. Classic and prestigious cuvées in white, red and rosé are made with these grapes from the pebbled and gravelly soil.
The second estate is located in the municipality of Vertheuil. The 35 hectares of Château Haut Beyzac have a clay-limestone soil in the vineyard and is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It makes several cuvées that are highly acclaimed.
