Description
This Haut-Mèdoc wine from Château Tour du Haut-Moulin is a fine Cru Bourgeois from the Bordeaux-region. The vines stand on a gritty soil with plenty of sunshine at a distance of 700 metres from the Gironde River as the crow flies. The mix of grape varieties for this Haut-Mèdoc Cru Bourgeois is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Château Tour du Haut-Moulin's wines are aged between 12 and 15 months in French oak barrels, a third of which are new barrels every year. The wine is deep red in colour with a nose of ripe red fruit with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, there is also that soft ripe red fruit alongside blackberries, mild tannins, minerality and toast. Pour at just under 18 degrees after letting the wine air for a while. With game dishes or red meat, with Camembert and old Dutch cheeses or with baked chanterelles.
