Saint-Estéphe 2016 Cru Bourgeois- Château Laffitte Carcasset
€25,75
Description
Château Laffitte Carcasset's Saint-Estéphe Cru Bourgeois consists of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The average 30-year-old vines have benefited well from the mild climate peculiar to the vineyards bordering the Gironde estuary. This Bordeaux wine is made in the style of Saint-Estéphe which can be described as "complex and fruity red wines with a nice tannic structure and a very good aging potential". Château Laffitte Carcasset ages the wine for 12 months in oak barrels, one-third of which are new. The wine turns purple-red in the glass with a nose of pleasantly fruity berries and blackberries, some strawberry and something grassy. On the palate this is joined by black fruit, some bay leaf and leather plus pleasant tannins. Serve at the old-fashioned room temperature of 18 degrees with Chili con or sin Carne, with Pasta Aglio e Olio, with all red meats or a nice hamburger or a piece of Camembert.
