Saint Amour Les Capitans 2020 - Domaine du Clos du Fief
A red Cru de Beaujolais made from the Gamay grape , called Holy Love, from the town of Saint Amour from a miniature vineyard called 'Les Capitans'. Winemakers Michel & Sylvain Tête press the Gamay grapes, sourced from 35-year-old vines, give them a long fermentation and then let the wine mature on stainless steel tanks. A bright ruby red wine with red fruit, cassis and some liquorice is the result. On the palate, it has a fruity soft taste with a graceful and long finish. The Saint Amour is very nice to drink at around 14-16 degrees Celsius with white meat or poultry or a with a nice risotto of course, but a soft cheese should not be missing either.
