Pinot Noir Grand V 2019 - MAGNUM - Domaine Gruss

A double bottle. This Pinot Noir Grand V from Alsace is, like 'ordinary' Pinot Noir, a special red wine. Whereby the 'V' stands for the Grand Cru field Vorbourg. Andrè Gruss turns the Pinot Noir grapes into something even more special than his ordinary Pinot Noir. Velvety on the palate, transparent red, light-footed but with a clear hint of the wooden barrels, and nicely spicy with the stable in the background. The Pinot Noir Grand V can be chilled lightly and goes well with pheasant with not too sour sauerkraut, with charcuterie or chicken, with a cheesy quiche or an omelette with mushrooms. Served lightly chilled at 14 degrees is fine.
