Pinot Gris Argiles Blanches 2022 – Domaine Gruss
€14,50
Description
This Pinot Gris Argiles Blanches was named after 'Christine', the daughter of the house and sister of winemaker Andrè Gruss. But due to problems with certain claims to that name, Andrè had to rename this fantastic Pinot Gris. Les Argiles Blanches' (the white clay) refers to the structure of the soil on which these grapes are planted. The Pinot Gris is the sturdiest of all Alsatians and can therefore easily be served with meat dishes. The Pinot Gris Argiles Blanches is even a bit oily and slightly spicy. It is planted sparingly in Alsace because it is somewhat susceptible to disease. This white wine is delicious and tempting with Vitello Tonnato or poultry. But of course, you can also drink it with a delicious salmon steak or with stir-fried asparagus with cashew nuts and oyster sauce. But it is certainly not to be sneezed at on the terrace.
