Pierre de Tuf 2018 - Domaine de la Noblaie
The 60-year-old vines grow the Cabernet Franc grapes for this Chinon Rouge Pierre de Tuf on limestone soils with a sprinkling of tuff. The organically grown grapes ferment in a cellar-hewn cuvèe of tuff from which the wine takes its name. People pour the grapes from baskets into the cuvèe and then the wine goes into oak barrels for 14 months and matures there until bottling. The fine red Loire Chinon Pierre de Tuf that delivers has a powerful fresh elegance. Aromatic and rich in ripe black fruit and minerality plus a long firm finish. Delicious with red meat, lamb stew, hard salty cheese and with grilled peppers. Serve at 15-16 degrees and keep for a long time.
