Viognier Le Blanc 2018 - Domaine Font Sarade

Description
No one believes this is a Vin de Pays Viognier Le Blanc when this wine is tasted. Yet it is true. The reason is that this is the Viognier grape that is "officially" not allowed to be grown in this part of the Côtes du Rhône appellation. To be more precise; the Viognier is the grape that has "no residence permit" here. But with grapes it's like with people; it is the exotic that happens to make it possible to make a beautiful wine here. Unlike in the northern Rhone, the climate here makes the grape taste much firmer and robust. The vinification takes place at a constant temperature of 15 degrees. Followed by maturation and regular 'bâtonnage', the stirring of the yeast sediment through the barrel with the aim of getting a round, full, soft and rich character of the wine. Drink the Viognier Le Blanc chilled to 10 to 12 degrees. Delicious as an aperitif and not to be sneezed at with beautiful roasted fish or ditto prawns. And dishes with a spicy oriental touch he can also easily handle!
