Vacqueyras Blanc Cuvèe le Penchant 2019 - Domaine Font Sarade

White is an unusual colour for a Vacqueyras Blanc Cuvèe le Penchant. This appellation mainly produces firm reds. But this wine is clearly white and has the characteristic solidity of Vacqueyras. The firmness comes mainly from the Rousan grape (70%) and is topped off with a little fruitiness from the Viognier grape. One fifth of the wine is aged in oak barrels and this gives it some toastiness. Drink at 10 to 12 degrees with a Brousse or a goat cheese, a plate of risotto, a grilled fish or poultry dishes.
