Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Le Premier 2016 - Château Lagrave
The Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Le Premier is made from Merlot grapes for 95% and from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for 5%. The grapes are carefully selected and vinification takes place over a month in concrete vats. By pumping the wine over and moving it around, the maximum amount of the grapes is extracted. This is followed by maturation in French oak barrels of 225 liters and 400 liters. The Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Le Premier is ruby red with a nose of cherry, raspberry, vanilla and a hint of pencil sharpening. On the palate black fruit, toast and spice, some bay leaf and a hint of cookie. Tastes great with wild boar Bourguignon, with Vol au Vent with chicken or veal, but also with Brie or Camembert. Serve at 16-17 degrees and decanting helps open the wine.
