Saint Amour Les Capitans 2017 - Domaine du Clos du Fief
A red Cru wine made from the Gamay grape from the town of Saint Amour from a mini-acre called 'Les Capitans'. Winemaker Michel Tête presses the grapes from 35-year-old vines, gives them a long fermentation and then lets the wines mature in stainless steel tanks. A bright ruby red wine with red fruit, cassis and some liquorice is the result. On the palate it has a fruity soft taste with a graceful and long finish. Very nice to drink at 14-16 degrees Celsius with white meat or poultry or a nice risotto of course.
