Pinot Gris Argiles Blanches 2019 - Domaine Gruss
€13,50
Description
This Pinot Gris Argiles Blanches was named after 'Christine', the daughter of the house and sister of winemaker Andrè Gruss. But due to problems with certain claims to that name, Andrè had to rename this fantastic Pinot Gris. Les Argiles Blanches' (the white clay) refers to the structure of the soil these grapes are planted on. The Pinot Gris is the strongest grape of all Alsatians and can therefore easily be served with meat dishes. He is even a little fat and slightly spicy. The grape is only sparsely planted in Alsace because it is a bit susceptible to disease. The wine is delicious and seductive with Vitello Tonnato or poultry. But of course you can also drink it with a delicious salmon steak or with stir-fried asparagus with cashew nuts and oyster sauce.
