Margaux 2015 - Château Confidence de Margaux
The vines of Château Confidence de Margaux are, of course, all in the Margaux appellation. The final wine consists of 55% of Merlot and 45% of Cabernet Sauvignon. After the initial fermentation, it continues in oak barrels for 4 months. This is followed by maturation for 20 months in half old and half new oak barrels. The Margaux stands bright red in the glass with a delightful nose of ripe strawberry, raspberry and blackberry. The taste is full, fruity, soft, a little pepper and vanilla, some mildly sweet griots, mocha and pleasant tannins ending in a wonderfully long finish. Serve nicely at 18 degrees with fine dishes of red and grilled meat, a truffle omelet, with hachee or just a club sandwich. Furthermore, the wine combines very well with firm Dutch cheeses.
