Corbiéres Roc Rolland 2014 - Domaine Plo des Vents

The Ligneres family also makes this Demeter certified Corbiéres Roc Rolland from the 'Montagne Noire' here from harvest year 2014. The Carignan comes from 60 year old vines. The Grenache is 30 and the Syrah 25 years old. The harvest is generally early, entirely handpicked. Together they compose a beautiful wine that ferments partly on concrete and partly on steel and then matures for 14 months in French oak barrels. The Corbiéres Roc Rolland is beautiful dark red with purple tones with intense notes of leather in the nose, herbs (cloves and cumin), rich in surprising aromas with a mix of notes of game and spices. On the palate this is complemented by a warm and dense structure. Intense and fruity with pleasantly soft tannins. Delicious with cold meats and with grilled and stewed pots of food or eggplants with candied tomatoes, because this wine asks for counterpowers and asks for 16 degrees!
