Corbiéres Les Traverses 2015 - Domaine Plo des Vents

The Ligneres family also makes this Corbiéres Les Traverses, Demeter certified wine, from the 'Montagne Noire' here from harvest year 2014. The Carignan comes from 50 year old vines. The Grenache is 20 and the Mourvédre 15 years old. Together they compose a beautiful Corbiéres Les Traverses that ferments partly on concrete and partly on steel and matures for 10 months partly on concrete and partly in French oak barrels. Beautiful ruby red color with a slightly spicy and nutty roasted nose that is complemented in the mouth by blackberries and plums. Intense and fruity with pleasant soft tannins. Delicious with cold meats and with grilled and stewed pots of food or eggplants with candied tomatoes because this wine calls for counterpowers and asks for 16 degrees!
