Brouilly 2018 - Domaine Clos de la Roilette
This Brouilly Coudert is of course made from 100% Gamay. The vines in the vineyard range from 25 to 60 years old. The soil is mainly sand and that gives -however strange that sounds- extra fruitiness. A smaller part is clayey and that gives the structure to the wine. A nice and solid glass with some creaminess. Black fruit to chew on with a little geranium in the background which means that the wine is still young. A fine long aftertaste. Drink at a temperature of 14-15 degrees with a rabbit, veal roast or ham from the oven. Also great with a firm Dutch matured farm cheese.
