Brouilly Amphore Alma Mater 2015 - Domaine Lapalu
€39,75
Description
From soil with a lot of granite come the grapes that are completely destemmed and fermented for over six (!) weeks for the Brouilly Amphore Alma Mater. And not just any fermentation in containers or vats. This wine ferments in giant earthenware jars. A kind of amphorae and with a capacity of 420 liters each! These amphorae are made in the Drôme from Italian clay. By fermenting in the partially porous pots the wine becomes beautifully round and gets a full taste with refined minerals. After fermentation the wine goes into casks and after 7 to 10 months of further aging the wine is bottled. The taste of this wine fits perfectly with the somewhat rougher sauces over beautiful red meat or grilled vegetables and meats. It even goes well with grilled fish with a hearty red sauce! Ideal temperature to serve the wine is 17 degrees.
