Beaujolais Village 2017 - Domaine du Clos du Fief
The Beaujolais Village is a top of the 'regular' red Beaujolais family from the Gamay grape. The grapes are taken from two parcels called 'Les Roberts' and 'La Roche'. The vines are about 40 years old and planted on granite soil. All grapes are harvested manually and after fermentation raised in their secure cuves. Brilliant red in colour and with beautiful red fruit and soft tannins, it's a lovely harmonious wine. Great served with charcuterie, fish (!), meat or vegetables on the grill and ripe soft cheeses. Of course do not serve too warm but at 14 degrees it tastes delicious.
