Maison Joseph Cattin - Voegtlinshoffen

Domaine Joseph Cattin is situated in the village of Voegtlinshoffen, 10 kilometres south of Colmar in the Alsace. Jacques Cattin is the umpteenth generation of winemakers. The Cattin's have been winemakers since 1720 so in terms of father-to-son craftsmanship the line is long. We are talking about the 12th generation! The company has been thoroughly modernised. Sleek design building with super computerized high-tech equipment. But next to the stainless steel tanks are the large oak foeders (enormous barrels) that were once made by craftsmen and decorated with ornaments. It is nice to see that the full 170 hectares of vineyards are managed organically here. Fields with a terroir of mainly clay and limestone that gives the typical taste to the Alsatian wines. Wines that all support the gastronomy of Alsace.

The label of the Sauvage wines was designed by Missy street art artist in Strasbourg. The illustration is an ode to nature and the pleasures of life.
