Domaine de Reuilly - Denis Jamain - Reuilly

Domaine de Reuilly has a long history. The first vines were planted there as early as the 7th century. Kings and monks of the Abbey of St. Denis interfered for centuries. It was in 1935 that Camille Rousseau, Denis Jamain's maternal grandfather, settled in Reuilly and planted his first vineyard with Sauvignon Blanc. The Reuilly vineyard was classified AOC for whites in 1937 and for reds from Pinot Noir and rosè from Pinot Gris in 1961.

In the 1990s, Denis Jamain takes over the vineyard. Organic farming in 2007 (Veritas certificate) and biodynamics in 2011 (Demeter certificate). The domaine was taken over in 2022 by Joseph de Maistre. Domaine de Reuilly comprises 4 fields with the pretty names: Les Coignons, Les Pierres Plates, Les Chatillon and Les Conges. These are planted with 12 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, 5 hectares of Pinot Noir and 4 hectares of Pinot Gris. The area lies on a beautiful terroir with mainly Kimmeridgien (a clay-limestone type) that, together with favourable climatic conditions, makes for beautiful grapes. Andne,...also special, the wines mature in oak barrels made from wood from the own estate's oak trees!
