The family business Gruss & Fils is located on the main street of Eguisheim. The wine village of Eguisheim is situated near Colmar, near Munster and the Ballon d'Alsace.
In the early 1900s, Eugéne Gruss began a specialized form of viticulture. He can call himself the founder of the Gruss wine generation. His work was continued by his sons Léon (1910-1974) and Joseph (1909-1988). On 7 December 1945, Joseph Gruss decided to purchase a large piece of land outside the village. He decided to specialise in quality wines and stopped producing in bulk, thus switching to selling in bottles.
The current family father Bernard, mother Anne-Marie and son Andrè continue to build the family business and push the quality high. They cultivate about 15 hectares of wine area. Their aim is balance, finesse, purity and elegance. With skill and craftsmanship they succeed in making ever more beautiful quality wines.
The 15 hectares cultivated are divided between the communes of Eguisheim, Wettolsheim and Rouffach. Traditional grape varieties are cultivated such as Sylvaner, Pinot Auxerrois, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir.
