The Domaine Hèléne and Jean-Pierre MUCYN is a family business that Hèléne and Jean-Pierre started at the beginning of this century. However, they bought vineyards that had been there for centuries and gave them their name. So they were able to start somewhat flying. Both spouses studied "wine science" in Beaune and with passion they set to work. Quality comes first and Jean-Pierre concentrates on the production process and sales and Hèléne mainly does the work in the vineyard itself. Their first vintage was 2001 and in total they produce about 50,000 bottles a year. They produce with respect for the environment and that means that they do not use insecticides and that fertilization is completely organic. The grapes are picked by hand and as they grow they are pruned back very regularly so that the yield has a high concentration and quality. The steep vineyards with vines of about 40 years old lie beautifully to the north of Crozes-Hermitage. The domain itself lies about 300 meters from the Rhone and is housed in an inn with stables that are over 250 years old.
