The vineyards of Domaine du Clos du Fief in Juliènas are spread across a number of villages and hamlets in the Beaujolais. The Chardonnay grapes come from slightly more northern Saint-Verand and the Gamay grapes for the Juliénas and Saint-Amour naturally come from Juliénas and Saint-Amour and grow on steep and sunny hillsides. The grapes for the red and rosé Beaujolais he grows mainly in Julliè. Michel Tête has been around for a while and has inherited the art of winemaking from father and grandfather via the tastevin. He is acclaimed for his craftsmanship and the wonderful quality wines he manages to make year in, year out.

The fourth generation has joined the domaine. In 2014, Sylvain joined the domaine after an education in viticulture and oenology with numerous internships at different wineries. Discovery of the Australian vineyard, with professional experience on the First Creek estate (Hunter Valley). With his experience, and these five years of winemaking together with his father, the company Michel et Sylvain TÊTE was founded in 2015. It is a new breath in the management of the estate, to adapt to this changing wine world, but respecting the tradition and the soil.
